This guitar parts video covers harmonics and false harmonics on an electric guitar. Harmonics is different than playing a string open or pressing the fret down. When playing a harmonic you have to press the string without touching it to the fret. You only want to touch the top of the string over the fret. The two easiest places to find harmonics is on the fifth fret and seventh and 12th frets. You can force a harmonic anywhere on the guitar by pressing the fret down, plucking the string with your pick hand and hitting it with your thumb at the same time.
